Month-end Update - January

Development is progressing but the process has slowed a whole lot since the last month, as you might expect. In the past few weeks I've:

  1. Prepared the main menu template where you can navigate between new game, load game and exit game (but of course, the functionality have not been implemented).
  2. Boss-room, the background and a boss, no H-animation yet.
  3. Heroine now able to drop-through jump-through platforms by pressing 'down' and 'jump'.

And problems! These are the few known issues regarding Labcoax v0.2 that affect some people:-
  1. Game errors out and requires closing when game is launched.
  2. Game launches but resources could not be loaded, giving only the background on screen and nothing else.
  3. Pressing 'enter' key to bring up the pause menu crashes the game.
I need more feedback to estimate the extend of these problems so I've added a poll to the right, where you can vote and tell me if v0.2 worked just fine or is experiencing one of the problems above. I hope it's not extensive but hey, surprise me.

  2. It's working greatly! I can't wait for more ennemies, room and all the new stuff!

  3. I for one would love to see some after effects of getting raped to completion. Both visual and gameplay effects would be great. For example, after the slime finishes you see her laying on the ground, panting, with the lower half of her body covered in green slime. After getting back up, she is still covered in slime and is slowed because of it for a while. Maybe the slime-head could impregnate her with an egg, and afterwards she looks heavily pregnant until a brief (and somewhat random) time later she is disabled/super slowed while she births a small slime. Giving rise to a new enemy type (maybe one that wants her breasts).

    These are just some basic ideas and while they may be a bit of work to implement, they add a lot (imo) to the gameplay and give the player a reason to avoid being fucked by the monsters. This is rather different than most games where there is really no reason to avoid it (maybe a tiny bit of health loss) and in fact many players actively seek out and enjoy the rape animations (I know I do). Make the rapes dangerous/debilitating and the pervert side of me (us) with be battling it out with the gamer side of me (us). Plus this helps keep the animations from getting old.

    Either way, I look forward to seeing how this progresses.


    1. Those are some pretty extensive work to implement because it would mean adding a handler for pregnancy, after-rape and status effects. Well, status effects (like poison/slow/on-fire!) are on their way in the game, but I was intending to keep it a surprise :/

      I could see to implementing an after-rape if time allows, but for pregnancy handler ... probably not. But perhaps a pregger scene with one of the bosses.

      Labcoax v0.2 ran fine?

    2. I understand that those would be major work to implement, they were just general ideas about how to make your game stand out a bit. As it is (and with every hentai game I've seen) rape is consequence free, an inconvenience at most. It'd be nice to see someone push things to the next level.

      Yeah, v0.2 ran fine for me, no issues that I can recall.
