Enemies Mockup

Hey peeps, just wanted to say ...
Lawd it's already December and I can't even see the finish line! Sometimes I keep questioning myself whether I could even finish this. Maybe even this project this is too ambitious. Dangit.

Anyway, I've spent the past week creating mockups of a variety enemies for Labcoax. When creating the mockups, I also have to plan for the enemy's attacks so that it is easy to manipulate ready-made spritework to make them (I'm lazy like that). Here's a couple of mockups compiled:-
Mockup of enemies
*Fanart monster 'Russa' by Tacokurt pixelized!

More mockups
EDIT #2: More mockups added

I might add to this post as I made more, but in the meantime, if you guys & girls thought of an enemy or monster that would fit in the Labcoax world, suggest them in the comments below!

  1. Oh, these all look great. I especially love the look of everything on the bottom row.

  3. Really good job for ur sprite mobs, I can not wait to see them become animated !

  4. Is that a werewolf-like enemy I spy? I approve greatly.

Would be cool if being defeated by it resulted in being transformed into one as well but alas it doesn't appear this is that sort of game. You would have my eternal loyalty if it where the case though.

    1. Any sort of enemy you would like to see?

    2. Perhaps some sort venom-like symbiote that rapes it's host? Not sure if it's the greatest idea but I would feel bad not contributing an idea since you asked. One of my biggest turn-ons is transformation so so anything involving that would be a huge up for me. I might have a few ideas with that, if transformation is a thing that's ok to have in the game.

    3. Because of my lack of GMaker knowledge, I've coded non-boss enemies to run a generic or pre-determined steps for the rape animation. I have not include a handler for special scenes (transformation and all that) them. Bosses on the other hand, I'll code to handle their unique player-defeat animation (here we can have transformation and all that, so it's just "animation" and nothing else).

    4. That would work well enough for me. Thanks for getting back to me so much.

  6. A spider type monster would be cool, a ghost would be cool too

  7. Maybe some sort of the slime creature that's humanoid in shape and encases her like some sort of body suit and uses it's mass to strike out at you with whip like tendrils? It'd probably not be to interesting as just a vaguely human slime mass so maybe give it some reptilian characteristics like claw-like hands and a tail? Figure it could make an interesting mid-late game enemy or sub-boss.

    1. I have something similar sketched. I just have to put it into sprites now. Stay tuned.

  8. Nifty! I like them. The floor surprise looks like fun. Any chance for a wall surprise? pops out of lockers, wall plates, and grates, sort of deal? I'm curious about what the bosses will be like! ^.^

  9. My idea? Have some cats running around, were probably the scientists' pets. Here's the fun part: They'll follow you around until you pet it (by crouching close enough to the cat) or you kill it. If it's a normal cat and you pet it, you gain health from happiness and it runs away to find a meal.

However, there are a few cats that have been infected by the green slime, and after some petting, it suddenly sprouts tentacles (out of mouth or back) to pin you down, suddenly expand to panther size, and begins raping. You don't get a chance to block this way.

The only way you can tell any difference before petting is by killing it- normal cats have red blood, slimed cats bleed green slime instead.

It's a little complicated, dunno if you can pull it off, but neat idea, no?

    5. if there will be futanari please, please make these enemies on avoidable pathes or make an on/off switch in the menue (which replaces the futamobs for others maybe)

  13. Honestly, I don't know why people are SO ambitious on projects like these. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a game that can be beaten in 15 minutes, and has only 5 or 6 enemies in it. They are a hobby, both for the developers, and for the players; no one expects anyone to be willing to devote 100+ hours to producing something like this.

After doing that, you can decide if you are at a place in your life where you can devote a chunk of your time and energy to making something ambitious; until then, just focus on finishing.

    Just my two cents.

    1. You're right. Absolutely nothing wrong with a well-executed small game. It's just hard to keep focus sometimes.

      Don't worry, I'll finish this.

  14. I noticed someone mention transformation. Could work very well given that stuff like lifeforms that use assimilation tactics seem to be pretty standard for a sci-fi setting. Give a nice sexy spin to it and it could work very well. Mmm... I can see the protag becoming a sexy slimegirl now.

  15. A doppleganger or enemy with some kind of mind control attack could be good? Possibly incorporated into terrain for stealth, such as a mirror.

    1. I could see one of those slimes latching onto the protagonist's head and mind controlling them kinda like those imps from castlevania, only sexier.

  16. I wouldn't mind seeing a few variations of the male lab scientist (different color shoes or coats? different attacks...green blob on head gives head rape now...what about an orange that would grab her in doggy style, one in a red coat that would have the blobs on his hands and hold her down and hand-rape her), maybe some female lab scientists that would have the blobs wrapped around their backs and pseudo tentacle grab the protagonist. Love this game, you've made a very high quality platformer with great pixel-on-pixel erotica...love it! :)

    1. There'll be some variations of some same enemies as players progress levels. Varied version of same enemies include different attack patterns and rape animations. Can't say or show anything now so chew on this first :)

  17. I'd love to see some female enemies. The lab can't only have the one female scientist, after all.

    1. I haven't gotten to doing the female enemy sprites yet. I will later, after doing a little bit of coding. Gotta break away from spriting awhile.

  18. I love these, I especially like the flying enemies.
Then again, I've always loved plants and flying bugs in these kind of games :3.

  19. Hey, I like the game, but I didn't like getting owned so hard by the rats at first. Any chance of changing their attack speed, or what map location they show up at?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I might change their attack startup to have more delay, giving players more time to react. I might also change their leap arc because the current one is just too ... slippery in the air (I hope that make sense). Balancing of enemies will be done later.

  20. wouldnt mind if you add a female monster in it

  21. Oh i didnt see more enemies! Suggestions hmmmm well you already did a werewolf and with tentacles even. I dunno..... another.... kind of werewolf... ? :)
    Maybe something lizard-dragon like

    1. So a were-dragon then? Hmmm... I like this idea and throw my support behind it.

    2. oh LOL no sorry i meant them as two seperate thoughts but i like that idea too!

  22. I'd also cast my vote for a dragon enemy. Visually, I'd say like the classic quadruped European dragons. I also think making it have a visibly human level intelligence in its attack patterns and animations would add a cool bit of flavour and distinguish it from the mindless beasts. And fire breath, maybe? The more I think about, it seems like it'd be a sub-boss or rare elite enemy rather than a regular mook.

And perhaps because of its intelligence/personality it might not decide to have its way with the protagonist. Maybe a random chance of it just deciding she's not worth its time and leaving behind a small item before disappearing? I guess this is all too complex to ask for, but in my ideal world the more "unique" or strong enemies would have distinct "characters" perceivable in how they behave, fight and treat the heroine. :P

  23. Nice concepts you've developed here! Must have been a lot of work. That's a nice variety of different enemies,

As for an enemy thought, since there's plants, I was thinking maybe a giant pitcher plant type of enemy in there. Inside of it would have the green slime, and well, the violation I'd leave that to your wonderful imagination. Would probably make for a nice obstacle type enemy as well.

Just a thought I'd personally like to see, keep up the great work!

    1. Glad you liked them! Cool pitcher plant idea. I just hope I remember to do things like this later though, it'll make exploration fun.

    1. Hmm no horses but I have ideas for a centaur-like creature. Probably no egg-laying though.

  30. Since some people offered both their ponderings about the mock-ups and suggestions, I'd like to give mine for Datanony's kind consideration,

First, it's really hard to guess how some of the creatures will start the scenes. I can make guesses about majority but in case of some their 'default' shape doesn't say much.

I certainly wouldn't mind somewhat animalistic enemies, not just those canine mutants. Tentacles seem to be involved at some point with some of those creatures so it's fine. I really like brainwashed laboratory personnel though I hope they will be of both genders. Generally, sex-crazed mind-wiped people are a plus, as the ability of creatures to temporarily turn the main heroine into very lustful type would be.

No matter how it'll turn out though, I am eager to see further progress and one day - play the game myself.

    1. You're right, regularly I find myself sitting down, stylus-in-hand, trying to figure out non-conventional coitus. Thoughts may go: "eh, doggy-style again". Fortunately, the vast internet can help me on this.

Difficulty is in actually animating it with so few pixels since I'm having the game made at such low-res. Gotta balance the amount of detail that can fit into the few pixels. I could be inefficient.

Female enemies are in the plans!
